When moved at a distance of one inch, the mouse will report a dot per inch (DPI) indicating how many’steps’ it has taken. You can also change the DPI of your MSI mouse on-the-fly by using the DPI buttons on the mouse. Scroll down to the “DPI” section and select the DPI you want to use. This software is pre-installed on MSI gaming laptops, but you can also download it for free from the MSI website. If you want to change the DPI of your MSI mouse, you can do so in the MSI Gaming Center software. In fact, most people would find a mouse with a DPI that high to be too sensitive and hard to control. The average person doesn’t need a mouse with a DPI that high. Some gaming mice even go up to 16,000 DPI. Most mice have DPI settings that range from 400 to 3,500. Conversely, if you have a low DPI mouse, you’ll need to move it a greater distance to get the same response. If you have a high DPI mouse, you can move your mouse a shorter distance to get the same response as a lower DPI mouse.
The higher the DPI, the more sensitive the mouse is. DPI is short for “dots per inch” and is a measure of how sensitive a mouse is.
